I believe in Christ. I have no problem saying the full name of the church because I want it clear whom it is a worship. I also appreciate the great prophet Mormon, so I am not insulted when people call me a "Mormon." However, I hope they know, first and for most, that I believe in Christ. He is my King. He is my Savior.
I also read, Stand in holy Places, by President Thomas S. Monson.
On Sunday I was reminded that a few key words that should signal our hearts to "listen up!" include, "I have felt impressed to share certain thoughts..." President Monson opened his talk with these words.
The thoughts that struck me most were:
"We have been spending our moral capital with the same reckless abandon that we have been spending our financial capital..."
"... morality is not passe... we are responsible for our own actions."
"... the laws of God remain constant. They have not changed."
"there is nothing which can bring more joy into our lives or more peace to our souls than the Spirit which can come to us as we follow the Savior and keep the commandments."
"We must be vigilant in a world which has moved so far from that which is spiritual. It is essential that we reject anything that does not conform to our standards, refusing in the process to surrender that which we desire most: eternal life in the kingdom of God."
"...it is necessary that we communicate with our Heavenly Father through prayer."
I am so looking forward to what President Monson wants to share with us in a few weeks! I love Conference!
