I Love Moroni!
The lesson? We ought to fear and respect God more than anything else. “Fear not what man can do… You should not have feared man more than God.” (D&C 122:9; 3:7).
Another lesson I learn from Moroni here is, being meek is not being weak. You don’t have to be a door mat. I love this definition of meek: great power under control. Moroni is direct and clear, as is the Savior, and he doesn’t take credit for himself. He calls a spade a spade. As Nephi said, “the guilty taketh the truth hard” (1 Nephi 12:2).
Then Ammorons letter was even funnier! "Well, I'm totally mad at you, and could beat the crap out of you. You stole the government from my Great Grandpa. I’m so mad! But, I'm going to give you exactly what you demanded, but not because you asked...it just so happens it's easier for us. But, I'm big and tough, I'm still gonna totally beat you."
Funny thing is he isn’t a Lamanite by heritage. He is a Lamanite in belief. I think that there are times that we all can get caught up in a grudge and become a Lamanite in belief. I will work harder to be a Nephite.
What did you learn?
