Gospel Study - The Race of Life

Today I read President Monson's talk, The Race of Life.

President Monson’s wisdom is always a welcome breath of fresh air, especially in this world that is, as he put it, “in a hurry”, and focused on things of no eternal significance.
In this fast-paced life, do we ever pause for moments of meditation—even thoughts of timeless truths?
A great question for all of us.
“The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.” Actually, the prize belongs to him or her who endures to the end.
I like how he put a few things that maybe we don't always look at as blessings and opportunities when times are hard:

"How grateful we should be that a wise Creator fashioned an earth and placed us here, with a veil of forgetfulness of our previous existence so that we might experience a time of testing, an opportunity to prove ourselves in order to qualify for all that God has prepared for us to receive."

...and "In a thousand ways we are privileged to choose for ourselves."
