November Report

It's that time in life... again.  We have another Senior in high school.
That means we have a mixture of "fear of the future so I'm paralyzed" and "I don't need your help because I'm nearly an adult and very independent."
Hannah has been very busy with the musical theater she loves and the school she tolerates.  That means we have put off getting all the college stuff to the last minute.
Lucky for Hannah, John was able to swing a few extra days to get Hannah's MDT application at BYU... Auditions and all...
... Then we had a couple days to get the regular BYU applications in...
... thank goodness for Aunt Gena Mabee.  She was a great help.  We sure hope the work of the past week pays off since it was like pulling teeth to get Hannah to come up with a Plan B.
It would be real sad to she her talent wasted on a community college because we missed all the deadlines.
Now we have until December 2 to get her Classical Music program applications stuff…

Addams Family at Pentacle Theatre

In the middle of the chaos of CET, I held auditions for Addams Family the Musical.  The show was part of the Pentacle Theatre 2015 season. I ended up casting the 10 main characters, 12 ancestors, and eventually, 2 gargoyles (silent characters I added to help set the mood and change scenes).  We began rehearsals that following week to learn music and dances.  I was blessed with a great production team that followed my lead and caught my vision nicely.  Although newspaper critics did not appreciate my vision, directing style, or the show itself, the audiences did like it.  We ended our run with 101% ticket sales and an added performance.
Dani Potter was, once again, my assistant director and sound engineer.  It is nice to be able to know that there is someone you can trust to take over rehearsal when needed and to take on a few scenes etc.  Dani has worked on many shows that I have worked on and we work together all summer long.  We make a good team.
